Below you can find links to a sample assignment sequence I created for my Spring 2024 section of Technical Communication (Engl 2100). This was a sequence of collaborative assignments that emerged from the values of community and collaboration that I discuss in my teaching philosophy. ​I ask student teams to research local contexts, attitudes, and demographics to make recommendations about building an amusement park in Utah County. After their report is complete, they build a portfolio of technical documents for the amusement park that we, as a class, have decided on. In this way, students practice the rhetorical principles we have discussed all semester long while also thinking in more community-focused ways.
